International Social Work

„What is International Social Work? It is Contribution to Social Work in the Global Society.“ Prof. Dr. Tatsuru Akimoto focused on the inter-relationship between social work and health, with particular reference to social justice and inequalities in health. At first he clarified the meaning of international social work, and secondly, inquired into its contribution to social work itself, particularly under the present trend of globalization. Tatsuru Akimoto ist Professor an der Japan Women´s University, einer Privatuniversität in Kawasaki. Er arbeitet dort an der Fakultät „Integrated Art and Social Science“. In der IASSW sitzt er im Vorstand (Executive Committee) und ist „Chair of the International Relations Committeé“ der Japanese Association of Schools of Social Work.
