In this course we will focus on work with children, adolescents and other target groups mainly in Berlin i.e. cultural education (theatre in education). Particularly educational concepts and tools related to low educated families will be explored. We will look for special needs of residents with migrant background. People in second or third generation in Germany. One of our objectives is to get an understanding of educational and cultural needs for kids in an intercultural urban area. Therefore we will also explore theatre tools in order to approach methods of socio cultural work within this work field. This workshop course contains methods of adult education, theatre in social fields (theatre in education, popular theatre) and group work. We explore issues by researching, discussing, presenting in small groups. Group presentation can have an explorative design. Therefore in November this course will participate in a theatre in education experts conference (Sichten, FEZ Berlin) on a Friday and Saturday in November 2012. This includes workshops, lecture and best practice projects. This conference will be compulsory for all students in this course. ASH will pay 50% of its fee.
