Art projects in public space
(Art in Context / Urban Practice)
Instructors: Carola Rümper / Sao Sreymao
The seminar is conducted in a practice-oriented manner with intercultural references. The artists Carola Rümper (Germany) and Sao Sreymao (Cambodia) introduce their own artistic practice and refer to the respective location.
Carola Rümper has been working in the Berlin district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf for many years. Her partizipatory art projects are often designed as interpretations and statements on the concept of hometown.
Sao Sreymao works in Cambodia as a performer and graphic artist. Her participatory projects are often carried out on throughout Cambodia. Her works explore personal expression and memories, as well as the changing physical and psychological landscapes of Cambodian urban and rural communities, often linked with ethnic minorities struggles with land rights and climate change issues.
In the seminar, students should develop,own focal points and practical implementations.
