- Global definition and ethic principles of international social work (IASSW, IFSW)
- Social exclusion and poverty in Europe and the world, definitions and indicators, multidimensionality of poverty
- Changements in social policy in EU-countries

- Theories and Models of migration and immigration
- European migration and asylum policy ( Frontex, Eurosur, Sophia etc)
- Racism, stereotypes and prejudices
- Right wing movements and parties in Europe
- Transnationality and intersectionality
- Postcolonialism, land robbery and dictatorship
- Human rights and social work
- Social work education in selected countries ( Europe, developing countries)
- Theories and practice of political transition- the cases of Egypt, Tunisia, Libya
- Cross national learning experiences

On our first seminar meeting we can decide about the themes you are most interested in, which we will treat and discuss in depth.. I would think the main emphasis should be on the questions around migration and asylum, poverty and social exclusion and what this mean for the political and social situation in the different European contries and the role of social work
And we can decide if we will have a weekly seminar of 2 hours or instead a block seminar ( 5 days à 8 hours for example) or a mixed form
Examination can be done as
- Presentation
- Essay
- Oral examination
- Written examination
(Besides the presentations in the seminar, the other forms of examination can be done besides English also in German, French or Italian)
