Areas, target groups and institutions of social work (W) In this course we will focus on theatre in education, intercultural work and prevention work, i.e. cultural youth work with children, adolescents and other target groups mostly in Berlin. Particularly educational concepts and tools related to low educated families will be explored. We look at special needs and programmes for Berlin residents considering various educational issues. Few concrete answers are found when experts criticize our educational situation. We will explore theatre tools in order to approach methods of socio cultural work within this work field (i.e. theatre in education). This course contains methods of adult education, theatre in social fields and group work. We explore issues by researching, discussing, presenting outcome in small groups by group presentations. Therefore in November this course will participate in a theatre in education experts conference (Sichten, FEZ Berlin) on a Friday and Saturday (including workshops, lecture and best practice projects). This will be compulsory for all students in this course. |
