Admission requirements
The required higher education entrance qualification is either an “Abitur” (general university entry qualification) or “Fachabitur” (specialist entry qualification for university of applied sciences).
If you have a different school leaving certificate, you can apply in accordance with Section 11 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz - BerlHG) subject to certain conditions (this applies e.g. for nurses, a requirement is 3 years of professional experience after completing training).
As an applicant with a Fach(Abitur), you also require a completed three-year vocational training programme in one of the state-accredited nursing or healthcare professions listed below for admission to study Healthcare and Nursing Management.

- Health nurs
- Paediatric nurse
- Geriatric nurse
- Midwife
- Remedial therapist (Heilerziehungspfleger/in)
- Physiotherapist
- Occupational therapist
- Speech therapist
- Operations Technical Assistant (OTA)
- Emergency paramedic
- Medical specialist assistant
If you only have two years of training in healthcare/nursing, at least one year of professional experience in the respective profession is additionally required.
