B.A. Healthcare and Nursing Management
The study programme
The undergraduate Bachelor’s study programme in Healthcare and Nursing Management offers around 40 study places every summer and winter semester for people who have completed their vocational training:
- Public health nurses and nurses
- Paediatric nurses
- Geriatric nurses
- Midwives
- Remedial therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational therapists
- Speech therapists
- Operation technical assistant (OTA)
- Emergency paramedics
- Medical assistants
If you only have two years of training in healthcare/nursing, at least one year of professional experience in the respective profession is additionally required. The research- and practice-based study programme leads to a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree.
Since 2008, there has been a demand in the healthcare market for Bachelor’s graduates with a dual qualification (vocational profession and B.Sc.), for example in administration and middle management. If you would like to gain an academic further qualification, you can continue your studies at ASH Berlin, for example with the consecutive Master’s study programme in Management and Quality Development in the Health Sector.
Study times
The study programme is offered as an attendance-based study programme and is to be completed on a full-time study basis in 6 semesters. Studies can be commenced in either summer or winter semester.
Every semester, the central teaching planning office creates a timetable that enables students to complete all mandatory and elective seminars within the prescribed standard duration of studies. The planning team usually manage to concentrate seminars on just 4 days per week.
