Project duration: 15/06/2015 - 15/08/2015

Principal investigator: Prof. Dr. Ingrid Kollak

Project staff: Stefan Schmidt (M.Sc.), Marie Wöking (M.A.)

Partner: Fairy Tale Land – German Center for Fairy Tale Culture

Abstract:
As part of the 3rd Saxony Fairy Tale Festival 2015, which took place from 22 to 26 June 2015, the German Centre for Fairy Tale Culture organised six fairy tale events in five refugee shelters under the motto "Fairy tales open doors that cannot be opened by force - living in two worlds." At these events, tales are narrated and shown simultaneously in mime. The result is film footage of children, as well as young people and adults, participating. The effect of fairy tale narration will be examined in terms of its effect on social behaviour (interaction with each other, in groups, in a plenary session), physical reactions (activity, relaxation), mental behaviour (open, intimidation) and cognitive responses (attention, remarks).

Funding:
The project is funded by the Federal State of Saxony, the Federal Ministry of Culture of Saxony, enviaM voRWEg. The scientific evaluation is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media.
