Abstract:
The project P.F.o.r.t.E. operated as an interface or “third space” between the university and the local community. In close collaboration with stakeholders in the district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf, the project P.F.o.r.t.E. identified qualitative and quantitative factors of successful partnerships – and their barriers. These findings serve the systematic development and enhancement of regional partnerships between campus and community and therefore support best practice in the transfer between academia and civil society – as exemplified by ASH Berlin and the social sphere in the district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. During the two years of funding, the six participating German universities met regularly to debate their different partnership projects in six collegial forums.
