On Thursday , Nov. 16, 2023 and Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, the conference „Social Entrepreneurship: Time for a Stocktaking in Research and Practice“ will take place at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin.
Conference „Social Entrepreneurship: Time for a stocktaking in research and practice“
Thursday | 11/16 | 9.30 am - 4.30 pm
The focus will be on the research contributions that form the basis of the „Handbuch Social Entrepreneurship“. The volume will be published by the Bielefeld-based transcript Verlag in 2024, edited by Dr. Philipp Kenel, Dr. Jenny Eschweiler, Dr. Helga Hackenberg and Dr. Michael Wihlenda. The interdisciplinary „handbook“ captures the state of knowledge on social entrepreneurship (SE) in Germany and serves to provide (better) social science explanations for the complex and controversial phenomenon.
Friday | 11/17 | 9.30 am - 3.00 pm
The ASHEXIST team (Prof. Dr. Uwe Bettig, Dr. Hans-Jürgen Lorenz, Jutta Overmann, Elisabeth Hanske, Melanie Akerboom, Judith Walter, Dr. Philipp Kenel) is hosting an interactive barcamp. Together we will look at social entrepreneurship in practice and at start-ups in the social and health sector. Explicitly, we will focus on the following questions:
- What appropriate and successful learning and teaching formats exist to promote entrepreneurship in SAGE degree programs?
- Starting a business in the SAGE sector: What needs to be considered in start-up consulting? What competencies do start-up advisors need? What do students and graduates want?
- What does the public support landscape for founders in the social and health care sector look like? What should or could it look like?
