This interactive presentation will define the key terms of the topic and raise the following questions: What is fake news, what is bullshit? Why is the spread of false, manipulative information dangerous for our democracy? And what does all this have to do with daycare centers? How can educational professionals deal with conspiracy narratives and extremist opinions, with the spread of false information on political and socially relevant topics in the team and among parents? Is it possible, is it necessary, to teach media literacy to children even before they start school? The statement "The world meets in kindergarten" not only refers to culturally sensitive work in daycare centers, but also includes the fact that a variety of political attitudes and points of view meet in kindergarten. How can we understand this as an opportunity for teaching democratic values also in the context of early (family) education?
The early education evenings on changing topics take place in cooperation with the University of Leipzig on Thursdays from about 17:00 to 18:45 in the digital room. The Early Childhood Education Evenings are aimed at students, students of technical colleges, pedagogical specialists, consultants, teachers at technical colleges and universities as well as other people interested in early childhood education.
