The Expo Bear has been on display at the Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin since Monday. The bear traveled to Hellersdorf on the initiative of ASH Chancellor Jana Einsporn and will now remain in the university's courtyard for a week.
After Jana Einsporn had signed the bear, she explained the campaign: "I support the plan to bring Expo 2035 to Berlin and transform the city into a world exhibition of sustainability. The great opportunity to become Berlin's beacon of sustainability undoubtedly also lies in the city's unique scientific landscape. Berlin's educational institutions play a key role in the realization of this ambitious goal. By closely linking education, research and business, we can attract Expo 2035 to Berlin and drive sustainable change at the same time. The city's universities and research institutes are the engine for innovative ideas and ground-breaking solutions that can help shape a more sustainable future."
Before the Expo Bear came to ASH Berlin, it stood on the grounds of the University of the Arts and at the publishing house Der Tagesspiegel.
The Berlin tour of the Expo Bear is organized by Global Goals for Berlin e.V.. The association has set itself the goal of bringing Expo 2035 to Berlin and implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations in Berlin by 2035.
